Flecks of earl grey tea add flavor to traditional butter cookies. If you're the make-ahead type, you can roll the batter into a log and keep it in the refrigerator up to 48 hours before baking.
SERVES: 6
PREP TIME: 20 Minutes
COOK TIME: 50 Minutes
Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons Earl Grey tea leaves, from approximately 6 tea bags
Kosher salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Directions
Step 1  Step 1:
Heat oven to 375° F.

Step 2  Step 2:
Place the flour, the sugars, tea leaves, and ½ teaspoon salt in the bowl of a food processor and pulse until the tea leaves are pulverized.

Step 3  Step 3:
Add the butter, vanilla, 1 teaspoon water, and pulse until a dough is formed. Divide the dough in half. Place each half on a sheet of plastic wrap and roll into a log about 2-inches in diameter. Wrap and chill for 30 minutes.

Step 4  Step 4:
Slice each log into 1/3-inch thick disks and place on parchment- or foil-lined baking sheets, 2 inches apart. Bake until the edges are just brown, about 12 minutes.

Step 5  Step 5:
Let cool on sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
